Grout colour for a marble-effect bathroom
People spend an evening choosing the tile and ten seconds on the grout. The grout is what you see between every tile, every day. On a marble-effect wall it can make the room look like stone or like a chessboard.
Match the background, not the vein
Veins are the drama. Grout should sit with the base colour of the tile. A bright white line through grey marble draws a grid the tile was trying to hide. A near-match lets book-matching and large formats do their job.
Joint width is a product decision
Rectified porcelain can take a fine joint. That is the look we install on tiled packages. If someone offers a marble effect in a soft ceramic with a wide joint, it will not look like the photograph, however similar the print is.

Quick answers
Should marble-effect tiles have white grout?+
Only if the tile is genuinely white and you want the grid. Warm or grey stone usually wants a grout close to the background of the tile, so the joint recedes.
Does a thinner joint need rectified tiles?+
Yes. Double rectified porcelain is what lets us use a fine joint. A pressed ceramic edge needs a wider line. That is why rectified porcelain is our standard on fully tiled work.
Will light grout stain?+
Light grout shows more. A quality grout, properly sealed where the product requires it, and a room with ventilation, behaves. No grout is stain-proof if it is neglected for a decade.
