Walk-in shower screen or a full enclosure?

← All guides

Walk-in screens photograph beautifully because the shower looks like part of the room. Enclosures photograph worse and behave better. Choose with the floor and the people who use the room, not only the picture.

Single screen

Best when the tray is long enough that you stand away from the opening, and the floor outside is waterproof or at least not a carpet someone will regret. A small tray with a dramatic screen is how bathrooms get a permanently damp bath mat.

Enclosure

Doors or a slider contain the water. They need clearance so the door does not hit the basin. In a terrace, that clearance is often the deciding measurement.

FAQ

Quick answers

Does a walk-in screen keep all the water in?+

No. A single panel stops most of the spray and lets some out at the open edge. The floor outside has to cope with that, or you choose an enclosure.

Is an enclosure safer for a family bathroom?+

It is tidier. Children and a strong shower are a lot of water. An enclosure or a well-detailed wet room is usually kinder than a single screen beside a towel and a toilet roll.

Which is included?+

Packages include a walk-in screen as the standard shower front. An enclosure is available where the layout suits it, and it is priced clearly if it is an upgrade.
