ProCore18™: a homeowner’s guide to the wall behind the bathroom

← All guides

The finish is what you see. The wall is what holds the finish, the basin and, later, the rail someone finally admits they want. Most “stud walls” in a bathroom are not a structure. They are a lining. ProCore18™ is how we turn that lining into something we are willing to fix weight to.

What it changes

  • —A continuous structural board, not a hopeful timber noggin behind one screw
  • —Support for heavier fittings
  • —A place to add grab rails later without replacing the panels or tiles
  • —The same bathroom look — the system is behind the finish

Included or optional

Accessible work includes it, because those rooms are specified for support from day one. Luxury work offers it at £999. We would rather you choose it with your eyes open than discover, years later, that the only solid thing in the wall is the shower mixer.

FAQ

Quick answers

What is ProCore18™?+

It is our wall system: a continuous matrix of structural-grade timber board on non-structural walls, so the bathroom is future-proofed. Mobility aids can be added later without taking the tiles or panels off.

When is it included?+

On accessible packages it is included as standard. On luxury panelled and tiled packages it is a £999 upgrade.

Do I need it if I am forty and healthy?+

You might still want it if a parent will use the room, or if you would like the option of a rail in ten years without a second refit. If you are certain you will never need that, it stays optional.
